La Rioja is the smallest province of Spain and gives its name to one of the most famous wine appellations of origin.
The first stop will be a visit to the Wine Museum, which is owned by the "Dinastía Vivanco Foundation". The home of Vivanco winemaking´s collection of sculptures, paintings etc... transmits a universal vision of the importance of wine in all cultures throughout history
We will also have the opportunity to visit San Millán de la Cogolla, located at the foot of the ´Sierra de la Demanda´ which is the World Heritage site of the Monasteries of Yuso and Suso.
The cultural importance of Suso is found in its collection of medieval manuscripts and codices which are some of the oldest examples of written Spanish .
The Monastery of Yuso was built to enlarge Suso in the XI Century. The museum is full of artistic treasures , paintings by Juan de Rizzi (considered one of the best spanish cloister painters) , XVII Century´s objects made of copper and XI Century gold and ivory boxes which contain the relics of San Millán.

Urdaibai is a UNESCO biosphere reserve known for its rich ecological diversity which includes the most important wetlands in the Basque Country for migratory birds.
During the tour we will have the opportunity to visit a Txakoli winery. Txakoli is a characteristic young ,fruity white wine from the coastal area of the Basque Country.
After the visit to the winery we will stop at the "San Juan de Gaztelugatxe" chapel overlooking the sea which is reached by a winding path and 231 steps. The chapel is steeped in local fishing and devotional traditions.
Inside there are paintings representing voyages, shipwrecks and hanging boats as an offering to San Juan. According to the legend San Juan arriving in Bermeo took three big steps and reached the chapel; the traces of those steps are on the last step to the chapel.
We continue the tour to Mundaka and Gernika.
Mundaka is a place which has conserved is culture, traditions and its language (Basque). It is a destination for surfers from all over the world, with what are considered the best waves in Europe .
Gernika is a symbol of the autonomous law of the Basque Country and home to the Assembly house, the highest institution of Bizkaia ( one of the provinces of the Basque Country whose capital is Bilbao). It is next to the mythical Oak tree, which is a symbol for all basques and has been a meeting point of the leaders of Bizkaia since the middle ages.

The visit will begin with a guided tour of Donostia-San Sebastian, which is an elegant city by the sea . It has one of the most beautiful bays in the world La Concha (La Concha, Zurriola and Ondarreta).
Donostia-San Sebastián is surrounded by mountains (Igeldo, Urgull, Ulia and the Island of Santa Clara). The "Urumea" river runs through the city.
San Sebastian has interesting buildings like the Victoria Eugenia theatre, the Hotel "María Cristina", the Town Hall, the Cathedral of "El Buen Pastor" etc... The city was very popular in the times of the Belle Epoque.
The old buildings coexist with the new and modern like the "Kursaal center" designed by Rafeal Moneo or the famous Chillida´s "Peine de los Vientos".
The old town is the heart of the city where there are numerous emblematic buildings like the "Basílica of Santa María del Coro" and it is an ideal location to taste the prestigious gastronomy and sample the delicious "pintxos".
We must not forget that the old town is the area with more "Michelín stars" per square meter.
We will lunch at a "sidrería" ( a place which produces and bottles cider) .We will taste typical menus of cod tortilla, salad, steak , cheese, quince jelly, walnuts all with cider.
After lunch we will head to Biarritz, an elegant Basque city on the south west coast of France, a holiday destination of the European wealthy and also, the European capital of surf.
It became famous in 1854, when the Emperess Eugenia, wife of Napoleón II constructed a palace which is now the Hotel du Palais.
The "Grande plague" is a crowded area where the casino , an "Art Decó" building and historic monument, is found.
