Thinking Txoko

Thinking Txoko >>>

The Thinking-Txoko is an innovative alternative space at the  ICOT 2015 .

The  will be situated in the main hall of the conference and it will gather different speakers and professionals to discuss certain themes of the conference.

By being in an open space there will be more freedom and opportunities to interact, listen, ask and debate for the attendees.

Tänkbar

During the days of ICOT2015 we will open a "TänkBar" (a venue with thinking on the menu) in connection to interesting lectures and sessions.

In a tasty and visual environment between keynote and featured sessions , we want to help the participants to reflect on what they just have heard in presentations or experienced during workshops.

During coffee breaks and lunches, we will therefore "enhance" the usual café and restaurant environment with various visual aids and tangible thinking tools to help participants to think together while eating or taking a coffee."

50 person per session permited.

Cost: FREE

Language: English

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Circular economy is a generic term that refers to an economy that is restorative either because of its design or by intention. That is, it aspires not to generate waste, eliminating that which can not be prevented. The thought behind Circular Economy is the result of a development that has its root in several schools of thought: Cradle to Cradle, Biomimicry, Blue Economy, etc. Overcoming the excessively environmental or sustainable approach, Circular Economy poses a transformation towards a completely new model of industrial, economic and social organisation.

The "Circular Economy" block will present the latest trends in this field and will discuss about the importance of accelerating the transition to this new economic model that not only aspires to increase the efficiency, but represents a genuine transformative change.

TALENT

There is a common element in all successful businesses: they work with the best talent. However, the journey to reach this point is full of challenges. Where to find professionals specialising in emerging sectors? Is the educational curriculum being adapted to the needs of the labour market? How to attract and retain the youngest talent? How does a company manage the aspirations of Millennial workers? Are there options to be an entrepreneur within an organisation of the 20th century?

Moreover, if we look at young entrepreneurs, we can see how they are developing a new business culture more linked to their identity and values than to the creativity that they develop. We find young talents who want to teamwork, they long for more horizontal organisations, they are creative and innovative, they are driven by passion and declare themselves as to be constantly learning.

NETWORKS

Networking is another way people have of working together, inside or outside the organisations; it is a way of organising, of acting, of sharing the information, of working as a single cohesive team, etc. Networking is a deep transformation of the company's culture.

We will see real practical cases of networking at an international level between different collectives: Women, young people, entrepreneurs, etc., but most of all, we will learn the challenges, opportunities and outcomes of networking firsthand.

LEADERSHIP

The expert Peter Facione will talk about the importance of critical thought in companies. The leaders with this skill take advantage of the opportunities through effective decision-making, discover opportunities where others can't, encourage collaborative learning and lead the team efficiently.

Carmen Bieger, Executive Director of Fundación Atresmedia, and member of the ranking list "Top 100 Women´s Leadership from Spain" 2013, will approach us to the vision of women´s talent in the Third Sector. We will also have the opportunity to know other effective leadership experience: One learning community directed under business scenarios.

{tabs=presentations}

Through the Business Presentations, we will get to know the outcome of investigations, experiences and new approaches from businessmen and investigators in the management field firsthand.

Intelligent organisations, the design of thought, how to structure the imagination, innovative business models, leadership in sustainability, entrepreneurship and skills for labour in the 21st century shall be some of the topics of the 16 presentations at ICOT 2015 Bilbao.

A meeting point and forum for exchange for people interested in the increasing relevance of critical and creative thought in the area of business management.

Sports Leadership

Since the late nineteenth century, sport has become instrumental in the representation of the power of a nation, not only from a symbolic point of view (rites, hymns, flags, etc.), but also as physical aspect of a national power ( the construction of the infrastructure , mobilising of citizens, etc.). Sport has acquired a strategy to project these values both internationally and locally. Today sport is, without doubt a great phenomena both socially and educationally.

We have the honor to have European coaches, sport management experts and specialists in brain training to compete and win.

LIMITS OF SPORTS LAW

Throughout history, many political leaders have used sport as an instrument for foreign policy strategy. Mao Zedong  an example of "good diplomacy"  was the rapprochement between his country and the United States through the "ping pong diplomacy". Nelson Mandela used the Rugby World Cup in 1995, a white sport,  by trying to overcome years of racial segregation and show the world the "new South Africa". The Obama administration is trying to establish ties with  sensitive countries by sending technicians and athletes . Is it just in isport? For many experts sport has become a place  to project not only  the history of a country but its culture and assets . What remains is the exploration of  the limits of this new political-sports scene.

We will be joined by two specialists in elite sports law - Juan Jose Alvarez, lawyer Quatrecasas and Ainara Knorr, director of the Unit for Elite Athletes of the Liga.

{tan= Social Inclusion}

How can an elite club develop commitments beyond the game? What are the objectives that follow the action of these foundations? Does the budget of the club determine the social message you want to project? These are some of the issues that we will discuss in the context of the round table for Sport, foundations and social inclusion that we will have the pleasure of sharing on June 30 th , 2015 in Bilbao

MANAGEMENT OF PUBLIC COMMUNICATION

With regard to athletes, much of society, including the media have begun to look for the value of the happy ending and the feel good  factor in a story but equally  highlighting the tragedies . Key  figures in sport have become  icons in the past decade ,  those successes and stories are now threatened.Not only  by the defeats, of the failed baskets or goals let in,  because they have crossed seas and oceans, and come to age in the  Golden Era of Spanish sport (male), and perhaps we are not ready for the fall. It is easy to communicate  victories  and believe in  immortality and greatness , but at the same time it is undeniable that these are just moments and  when they end it is usually in a devastating way. Now, how can the communication of an institution or a sportsman in a situation of change  be managed? How do the media  tell these stories to bring greater identification with their audiences / readers? They are bearers of bad news  or are  they also responsible for a good or bad perception.

We will be joined by the  journalists Paloma del Río, director of sports TVE, Fermin Street, journalist and sports editor of the Terra page, and Yuri Morejon, communication consultant and director of Communication is Winning, consultant oriented athletes.
